This past Monday the parish held its 20th annual golf tournament, which was named in 2009 as The Annual St. Mary of the Nativity Rev. Daniel J. Kennedy Memorial Golf Tournament. Despite a little drizzle it turned out to be a wonderful day for all. At the evening meal we were blessed to have Fr. Dan’s Dad present with us along with his daughter Kathleen. They are so grateful to our parish for keeping Fr. Dan’s memory alive in this way and for our support of the scholarship they established in Fr. Dan’s name, which supports young men studying for the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Boston.
This event would not have been possible and so successful without the effort of the golf committee, which did a remarkable job this year. I would like to thank them and the volunteers who helped them and all of you who participated whether through your prayers, the purchase of a raffle ticket or sponsorship, attending the dinner or playing in the tournament. I also would like to thank the Hatherly Country Club for providing such a beautiful venue and wonderful support for our tournament.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
